Scottish Seabird Centre

The Scottish Seabird Centre is an award winning 5 star wildlife attraction. Open all year, the Seabird Centre is set in a stunning location, overlooking the beautiful wildlife rich islands and beaches of the Firth of Forth. The Centre is a world leader in wildlife viewing where you become cameraman for the day using incredible live remote control cameras for an amazing nose to beak encounter, without disturbing the animals in any way. There are amazing spectacles to be seen throughout the year. The area is home to 400,000 nesting seabirds with over 100,000 gannets arriving to nest on the Bass Rock from February onwards. The largest single island gannet colony in the world, the Bass Rock is described by Sir David Attenborough as "one of the wildlife wonders of the world". The puffins steal the show from April to early August and grey seals beach to pup in October. Sightings of dolphins, porpoises and whales are on the increase in the Forth, including minke, pilot and killer whales. The Centre has an exciting Discovery Centre with live cameras, wildlife cinema, aquarium, telescope deck, environment zone and migration flyway. There is also an attractive Cafe with open decking over the sea and an excellent shop.
