Mull Eagle Watch
Mull Eagle Watch is a partnership between the Mull & Iona Communtiy Trust (MICT), Forestry Commission Scotland (FCS), RSPB Scotland, Scottish Natural Heritage (SNH) and Strathclyde Police. It started in 2000 as a sea eagle protection and public viewing scheme involving volunteers from the local community. Each year between Easter and September visitors can join ranger-led tours to the world's only public viewing hide overlooking a sea eagle nest. CCTV pictures and sound from the nest are also beamed back live to the hide and on to the web. Entrance fees are £5 adults/£2 children for a two hour trip. Local residents and schools are free. Annual proceeds are split between improving facilities and equipment and local good causes.
