EYE SPY! Join a walk to search for butterflies, dragonflies, birds and wildflowers.

Cream o’ Galloway is encouraging people to discover butterflies, dragonflies, wildflowers and birds by taking part in a free event called ‘Eye Spy’, part of Scotland’s Wildlife Week.

WHALE & DOLPHIN CONSERVATION SOCIETY EVENTSDates: throughout the summer

Get involved with a host of events and activities this sumer at the Whale and Dolphin Conservation Society Visitor Centre at Spey Bay on the beautiful Moray Firth coast. There's something for everyone, including the special
'Wildlife Warriors' club for children (WW).
- Sensory Walk : Friday 5th June, 7.15pm – 8.30pm. Explore
nature in a different way by using all your senses. Look, hear, touch,
taste and feel your way around the reserve and discover a new world.
- Save the Whale Challenge Event: Sunday 14th June, 11am – 4.30pm.Have
a whale of a time and help save our whales by joining us for a fun
filled day of challenging events and games. Sports day competitions,
bottle stalls, cake challenge, face painting, art table, quiz trails,
story telling and lots more for the whole family to enjoy!
- Beach Clean & Bring / Take Swap Stall: Sunday 21st June, 11am – 4pm.“One
person’s rubbish is another person’s treasure”.Recycle your old
treasure or come and pick up a new treasure. A fun filled day of Eco
friendly activities and afternoon beach clean to help keep Spey Bay
beautiful.All safety equipment provided, all children must be
accompanied by an adult.
- Butterflies & Bumble Bees: Friday 3rd July, 715pm - 8.30pm. As
the wild flowers bloom, Spey Bay comes alive with sound of buzzing bees
and the beautiful colours of butterflies. Come with us on this guided
walk to discover a secret world of exotic sights and sounds.
- WW - Creepy Crawly Carnival: Wednesday 15th July, 2pm – 4pm. Unearth and take a look into the marvellous miniature world of mini beasts.
- WW - Rock around the beach: Wednesday 22nd July, 2pm – 4pm. Explore the depths of the ocean and become a dolphin dancer.
- WW - Wildlife Undercover Agents: Wednesday 29th July, 2pm – 4pm. Use your best detective skills to uncover the secret of Spey Bays amazing wildlife.
- Beach Clean: Sunday 26th July, 11am – 4pm. Join us for a
day of eco themed art activities and games. Finish the afternoon with a
community involved beach clean to help keep Spey Bay beautiful.All
safety equipment provided, all children must be accompanied by an
adult.
- WW– Nature Super Heroes: Wednesday 5th August, 2pm – 4pm. Build up super powers and combat evil pollution man and his wicked waste gang.
- Bat Walk: Friday 7th August, 7.15pm – 8.30pm. Discover the amazing world of British bats as we try to spot and hear them in the twilight.
- WW - Pesky Pirates vs Dazzling Dolphins: Wednesday 12th August, 2pm – 4pm. Pirates have stolen Sparkle can you help Spirit defeat them and get her back.
- WW - Birds of a Feather: Wednesday 19th August, 2pm – 4pm. Learn how to look for birds, and make feathery wildlife art.
- Beach Clean: Sunday 23rd August, 11am – 4pm. Join us for a
day of eco themed art activities and games. Finish the afternoon with a
community involved beach clean to help keep Spey Bay beautiful. All
safety equipment provided, all children must be accompanied by an
adult.
- Animal Tracks: Friday 4th September, 7.15pm – 8.30pm. Develop
your bushcraft, tracking and identification skills on our guided walk
as we follow the tracks and signs left by the animals of Spey Bay.
- Beachwatch Clean: Sunday 20th September, 11am – 4pm. Join
WDCS for the annual Marine Conservation Society Beachwatch and help
keep Spey Bay beautiful. Plus, lots of eco themed art activities and
games. top castles ruins and learn about their dark history. Visit the
amazing Whaligoe steps and other deserted harbours, relics of a bygone
age of fishing and trade.
