Wild Scotland Charter
All Wild Scotland members demonstrate their commitment to responsible wildlife-watching in two ways:
1. The Wild Scotland Code of Conduct which outlines the principles of the association:
All Wild Scotland members agree to:
- Adhere to the laws of land and sea, in particular those relating to wildlife
- Be committed to the conservation of Scotland’s natural heritage
- Be committed to providing a quality experience for visitors
- Be supportive of the aims and objectives of Wild Scotland
- Promote and demonstrate the responsible interaction between visitors and nature
- Abide by Wild Scotland Best Practice guidelines
- Not bring wildlife tourism or the Association into disrepute
2. The Wild Scotland Charter which provides businesses with the opportunity to describe their commitment to three key values: integrity, accountability and openness. This commitment may be through staff training, adherence to codes, awards for best practice and/or involvement with local community. Elements of the Charter are shown on members’ website entries.
