Our hide is located in the Cairngorms within the Caledonian Pine Forest, near Aviemore. Badger are regular visitors all year round and Pine Marten can also be seen along with Scottish Wildcat. A variety of other Scottish wildlife may visit our hide whilst it is still light, including Tawny Owls, Red Squirrels and Roe Deer. Each evening wildlife watching experience lasts approximately two and a half to three hours.

Beaver Walks between May and August. Our bespoke guided beaver walks comprise a 2-hour walk with one of our experienced Rangers. They will guide you to sites within Knapdale where you will gain an insight into the incredible biodiversity benefits brought about by these ecosystem engineers. We also visit locations where you will have a chance to spot these amazing ecosystem engineers.
Rainforest Walks all year round. Temperate rainforest, one of the world’s rarest kinds of habitat, thrives in Argyll. We have a ‘hyperoceanic' climate – that is one in which the temperature is relatively consistent, and it rains a lot! That creates a stunning diversity of mosses, lichens, ferns, and liverworts which smother the trees. This unique ecosystem is home to a wide array of species that matches the best that Scotland can offer. Our 2-hour, ranger-led walk takes you into the forest to gain an insight into the delicate balance that sustains this habitat.
Ranger Experience between May and October. Spend an afternoon with us to discover what it's like to work in this amazing environment. This is an opportunity to be immersed and explore the unique habitats of the Atlantic Rainforest. You will accompany one of us to check, reset and download our camera traps, these monitor the activities of the beavers, as well as the other wonderful wildlife that can be found here. We may also spend time at the centre, refilling our feeders, seeing what we’ve captured on our trail cameras and to spend time in our wildlife hide to spot some of the many animals that visit such as red squirrels, woodpeckers and sometimes pine martens. Depending on the time of year, you may be able to help us check the contents of one of our moth traps or accompany us on one of our seashore safaris or public beaver walks.

The summer may be over, but that doesn't stop us from getting out into the hills and exploring all that Perthshire has to offer. We've started taking bookings for 2026 and are looking forward to some new and exciting projects.
