RSPB Scotland Sumburgh Head nature reserve

RSPB Scotland Sumburgh Head nature reserve is located at the southern tip of mainland Shetland with the majestic 80 metre cliffs offering fantastic, unobstructed views of the seabird colonies and seascapes. Visit this headland during the summer and you’ll be privileged to witness the amazing spectacle of thousands of seabirds, including puffins, guillemots, shags and fulmars. Sumburgh Head is a great place to watch for whales and dolphins, particularly Minke whales and orcas.  They are not frequent visitors to the seas around Sumburgh Head but you may be lucky! Shetland Amenity Trust run the Sumburgh Head Lighthouse and Visitor Centre which is a world class visitor attraction, providing an engaging and interactive experience for the whole family.  Visit www.sumburghhead.com to find out more.
